Carol-Singing at Supervalu 2001

We have a very strong tradition
in our school of supporting the less well off in our own community and throughout
the world - a tradition we are very proud of. 1This
year our carol singing at Supervalu was a great success - with an super total
of £1510 collected, £670 on Friday and £840 on Saturday. This
will be shared equally between the St. Vincent de Paul and the Paul Clarke Fund.
Paul is a past pupil of our school and has suffered major injuries as a result
of a car accident. We are delighted to be able to do a little to help him and
his family - we also acknowledge a very generous contribution by Supervalu to
add to our collection.
It always amazes us that the
people of Castlebar are so generous - we sang for four hours in total - so when
translated - we collected over £6 for each minute - this makes the effort
and the practice very worthwhile - thanks to everyone who contributed and to
the parents for bringing their boys to Supervalu on both days - there was a
great turnout and they did you and our school proud - super singing and great
co-operation.
